Privacy policy.
Last updated: 10th November 2025
Cardamom is designed to make storing and scanning loyalty cards simple and privacy-focused.
This policy explains how your information is handled when you use the Cardamom app and website.
Data Handling in Cardamom
Cardamom stores the barcode numbers you choose to add so that you can display them on your device.
These numbers may optionally be made available to other users as “community cards.”
Cardamom does not collect or transmit any personally identifiable information with these barcodes.
Cardamom does not collect:
Your name, address, email, or phone number
Location data
Purchase or transaction history from retailers
Any analytics that identify you personally
Only the anonymous barcode values and minimal technical data (such as error logs or performance metrics) are processed to keep the service running smoothly.
Sign in with Apple
Cardamom uses Sign in with Apple solely to create a private, anonymous account token that links your data between devices.
Apple does not share your real name or email address with Cardamom if you choose “Hide My Email.”
This login is isolated from your stored barcodes, and no information about your cards or retailers is ever shared with Apple.
Community Cards
If you enable the “Make barcode available” option, your barcode number becomes visible to other users inside Cardamom.
You remain anonymous—no personal information is shown with it.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to share any barcode you upload.
You can disable sharing or delete any barcode at any time.
Cardamom does not verify retailer terms of use or permission to share barcodes.
Users should review the rules of any loyalty programme before scanning a barcode in store.
User Rights and Data Deletion
You remain in control of your data.
You can delete individual barcodes or remove your account entirely at any time from within the app.
If you have uninstalled the app and would like your account removed, contact us using the details below.
When an account is deleted, all related barcode data is permanently removed from our servers.
Data Security
All communication between the Cardamom app and its servers uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
Minimal data is stored, and it is protected against unauthorised access or misuse through secure authentication and restricted access controls.
Future Uses of Data
Cardamom currently uses data only to provide its barcode-storage and community features.
If we add new uses—such as analytics to improve performance—we will update this policy.
Any future use will continue to exclude personal or identifiable data.
Global Privacy Compliance
Cardamom is developed and operated by Helix Apps LTD, a UK-based company, and complies with the UK GDPR and other global privacy regulations such as the EU GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Because Cardamom does not collect personal data, many regulatory rights (such as data access or correction) are not applicable.
However, users may always request deletion of their account or data.
No Sharing of Personal Information
Cardamom does not share, sell, or rent any user information to third parties.
Anonymous technical data may be processed by trusted service providers (for example, cloud hosting) strictly to operate the service, under data-processing agreements that maintain equivalent privacy safeguards.
